This panel has no ballasts to burn out like other plant lights. It does not run hot, just warm. You will not experience unsightly brown burned leaves when they accidentally touch the LEDs. This is common with most other lights that get very hot. This more controlled running temperature reduces the need to water so often and keeps rooms with plants from getting uncomfortably hot in the summer months requiring additional air conditioning. Extreme energy efficiency permits this new LED panel to pay for itself many times over each year in electricity savings. It saves 50% to 90% in energy consumption compared to incandescent bulbs or fluorescent tubes. Wide angle projection insures uniform leaf coverage.
Scientifically calculated even blending of red and blue LEDs eliminates the time consuming task of repositioning separate colored lights back and forth trying to achieve uniform exposure. 14 to 16 hours per day is all that is necessary for maximum plant health with this wave blended lighting system. This allows distances 6" and less between the LEDs and the plants accelerating photosynthesis. Red and blue wavelengths are for growing and flowering of plants. The typical white plant lights that are very hot is unnecessary and just consume excessive electricity. The purity of the LED generated light lengthens flowering periods. These LEDs turn on instantly and can be turned on by hand each day or work well with all standard lamp timers.

Summary: good for the money
Comment: this lights great for the price, but dont be fooled by the claims that its the equivilant of any H.I.D. but with a few tricks you can make it work even better I conbine mine with a few small 65k 23watt cfls and so far useing the same set up this lower wattage system has made my garden explode when compared to my old 600w hps.I use mylar on the walls to help spread light and with multiple cfls the light is more evenly distributed allowing for an even bigger havest and also keeps the heat in you green room easy to manage.

Summary: Crappy results - Regular fluorescents outperformed it
Comment: Did a side by side comparison with regular CFL bulb, and the CFL bulb outgrew the LED by far. Not worth the money for something this weak. High power LED's would work better

Summary: You get what you pay for, which in this case is OK
Comment: CONS:
1) My first issue with the product is that it comes with no mounting kit.
2) The frame is plastic painted like metal. It feels brittle, but if you're careful, then no worries.
3) The light is WEAK. I MUST place the light no more then 2" to 4" from the plants. My seedlings grew poorly, but they grew.
PROS:
1) The product is cheap at $37 with free 2-day s/h.
2) It uses less than 14 watts of power. This is outstanding, and makes it easy for me to test out need seedlings under different conditions.
3) It gives off no noticeable heat!
Well, there you have it. All in all, it is a decent product for the price. I won't buy another one because a compact fluorescent bulb rated at the same wattage does better. I can buy one at wally world for 1/4 the price with a small lamp fixture! It's a fun toy, and if you're looking for something to play with, then get this! If you expect anything serious or better than a similar rated CFL bulb, don't bother.

Summary: Item quit working less than 5 months of use.Waste of time & money.
Comment: A WASTE OF MONEY, JUNK, WORTHLESS...Stopped working in less than 5 months. This cheaply made LED Panel did not last 1 grow season and does not produce enough lumens for growing. Save your money and buy HID( High Pressure Sodium or Metal Halide) or CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lighting). A $1.oo 20 watt "Dollar Store" Fluorescent light will work more than a year and produce almost twice the amount of usable light. I bought this unit to use to supplement existing lighting but soon most of the LED's quit working. For the short time it functioned plants seemed to react. In less than 5 months 75% of the LEDs stopped working. The short life of this LED Grow lighting and high cost/low performance ratio still makes LED lighting MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE TO PURCHASE AND USE. HID, MH and CFL lighting (currently used by by professional nurseries & growers, still offer the most cost efficient sources of indoor lighting. LED lighting does not have enough intensity be used alone to produce blooming and produce fruit or vegetables unless you have 500 watts or more of LED lighting to get the intensity needed to keep plants from running during growth and produce flowering. Additional lighting sources will be needed to produce enough intense light for fruit on plants such as tomatoes or eggplants grown indoors. Hopefully future developments will make LED lighting a cost effective choice for indoor gardening.

Summary: pretty good for a smaller space
Comment: I have been using this for 4 hot pepper plants which i started from seed under it, and they are now flowering just weeks after planting. All growth has been under only this lamp, in a homemade makeshift grow box with a humidifier. Works great in small doses like this, but i had tried to have a few more pepper plants under there for a while, and their leaves were turning way to dark of a green to be a healthy light intake. Overall, if you are only doing a few plants at a wack, this is a fantastic product. Would have given it 5 stars, but as mention before, there is no hanging apparatus that it comes with so you gotta jimmy rig something up yourself.
